By Her Hand: A new exhibition featuring Suparna and Shayona

Suparna’s intimate, inimitable and direct voice now becomes third person.

As regular visitors of this website know, our dear mother passed away in 2025. These pages are now in the care of us, her adoring kids, Shayona and Shahan. Her art, poetry, humour and commentary–including the occasional evisceration of the latest cultural absurdity–are as alive and current as ever. And there is so much of her work and her spirit still to share. We’re elated to be posting in this space again, continuing to share and grow Suparna’s immeasurable legacy.

In the first of many future celebrations of Suparna’s work, Shayona has created By Her Hand, a new group exhibition opening to the public on Mother’s Day. This poignant exhibition brings three pairs of mothers and daughters into dialogue through their work, exploring themes of memory, inspiration, lineage, passion and courage. Details below. We would love to see you there.
